I recently switched from making EDM to tech house. I know that in tech house everything should happen in bits of 16 bars but is there a set structure in which they should be arranged? In edm it is intro-rise-drop-fall-rise-drop-outro but I can't seem to find a pattern in tech house. Until now I have just based my structure on songs I like but am I free to do whatever I want when it comes to structure?
The structure I used for my last song (which I came up with myself) is kick+bass>kick+bass+chord>breakdown>more breakdown>kick+bass+chord>kick+bass+more chords>outro.
Is this an OK structure?
