I have been learning with Synth1 for 2 years now and have progressed very far in terms of synthesis knowledge. I am still far from knowledgeable in the topic, however I feel that Synth1, while great, lacks a good second oscillator. As I have a comfortable grasp of working with a single oscillator, I would like a second oscillator that has independent envelope/filter/amplifier controls. Currently Synth1 puts both oscillators through the same amplifier and filter, so I need to fiddle between 2 instances and they do not interact in the same way that they would if they were native to one instrument. Any low cost/free synths that I can move up to? I'm not looking for more bells and whistles, just a way to get some more control over my signals. I understand that many on this sub are Sylenth1, Massive, or Serum users, however I would like to learn more before dropping a lot of money on such complex synths. Thanks!
P.S. I am currently on a totally freeware setup using Linux MultiMedia Studio so trying to keep costs close to 0.
