I currently run Ableton while using an Akai MPK mini II 25 key, and after 2 years I'm finally feeling ready to upgrade to a 61 key midi (81 is too large for my current set-up)!
Now, I've done plenty of research--online reviews, YouTube videos, old posts in this sub--and I've narrowed it down to a few options:
- Akai professional MPK61 (I can get it for $300 on Craigslist)
- M-Audio Code 61
- Roland A800
Prices are all relatively the same, but I want something that feels good, aka semi-weighted piano feel. I'm not too into the extra pads and dials--though I do care about looks! That being said, I am leaning toward the Akai.
What are your personal thoughts on your 61 key keyboards? Any advice/input is appreciated!
