So at the beginning of the year I decided to jump into music production and I am LOVING it so far. I have written melodies on piano nearly my entire life, but what outright confuses me is bass sound design. I'm currently using Ableton with Serum being my first synth to learn on and im spending a few hours a day at it. Now I am not exactly asking "Lol how to make dubstep bro??", but what plugins/synths/techniques should I look into to create these wub sounds? Serum is incredibly intuitive, but is it the right tool for the job? What else should I be using as well as serum? I went ahead and downloaded the Massive wavetables for serum as well. (Will this help?)
