I will be opening studio in June and have about 12 weeks to bring my production to a truly professional level. Granted, this isn't limited to solely electronic music, but I would love to hear some insight from this community.
I know the topic of "genre producing" has been controversial in this thread, but I want focus on a specific genre within electronic music each week and immerse myself in its top artists to develop the best intuition for the energy associated with that sound. I know that trying to write into a genre is limiting as a pure creator but when you are making music for others, it is an essential skill to have.
My questions are:
- What genres/artists should I really dig into and emulate?
- What production techniques should I focus on and how can I practice these techniques?
- What plugins are essentials to familiarize myself with i.e. EQs, Compressors, Massive
Thanks :)
