So I'm somewhere after learning my DAW and before making multiple finished tracks.
I'm currently studying music theory (via a book) and anytime I hop on FL I just get discouraged quick. I can't properly layer or make sounds. I have no sense of what to "add" to my songs or a workflow of any sense besides drums -> chords.
Anyone have any ideas on my next move? I was thinking continue music theory and learn a plugin inside and out. (Likely serum).
I want to make many genres - primarily future bass, dubstep, trap.
I know this is rather open ended, but I'm really discouraged. I know it takes time, but I just want to be able to enjoy it again. I really like DJing but without production it's pretty useless. I want to be able to make my own "sound" and be proud of my tunes.
