I produce progressive house and I struggle with groove or drums sample selection. I create melody, chords, then I find the right leads and chords sounds, create and layer bass etc. Sounds good. But my main problem is with drums. I still end with just basic kick/clap beat. Sounds good but not interesting, and sounds like the whole drop is "slow". But how I can "find" the "right" rhytm according to my leads melody? Because with just kick in drop sounds very dull...I just how big producers like Nicky Romero, KSHMR, Hardwell, Bassjackers etc have that good drums selection and create super rhytm with his samples ..
So have you any tips for me? How I can figure out the rhytm/groove according to the main melody?
