Last year, 128 people from /r/Monstercat signed up for a competition that was kinda different, and went on behind the subreddit for 9 months. Today that contest finally ended, with Synchron being the champion.
Now with this year ending, we're looking for people interested in competing in 2017. The competition begins tomorrow.
PC2017 shall consist of 4 rounds:
- Round 1: 1-2 Minute Audio Collage Cut to the chase and showcase your skills to us! It can be anything from your best sounds, synths, vocals, drops, drum patterns, beat-boxing, an epic guitar or drum solo, literally anything that you can fit into a span of 120 seconds that you believe can get you to the next round. Top 64 will advance
- Round 2: Original Track Challenge Simple. Produce an original track within the allotted time period! Remember that collabs are always welcome! Any genre goes, must be a minimum of 2 minutes, no limits, just an original piece! Top 16 will advance
- Round 3: Remix Challenge For this round, you can choose any song you wish and remix it, also must be a minimum of 2 minutes. You can also Edit, Flip, Bootleg, make a VIP of a song of your own, come up with another crazy name for a remix, whatever! Top 4 will advance
- Round 4: Final 4 The remaining 4 are able to submit anything they wish to try and win the competition. An original, a remix, an EP or LP, an EP based off an original, an original based off a remix based off an EP, or a remix based off a remix based off a VIP based off a... yeah. (2 minutes minimum). The one who remains is the winner!

- Round 1: - Opens December 1st - Submissions open December 15th - Deadline December 25th (Christmas Day) - Round 2: - Opens January 1st (New Years Day) - Submissions open January 15th - Deadline January 25th - Round 3: - Opens February 1st - Submissions open February 15th - Deadline February 25th - Round 4: - Opens March 1st - Submissions open April 15th (Yes you are looking at this right, you get 2 months :D) - Deadline April 25 - Winner is crowned May 1st!
