Hi
I've been interested in the idea of adding hardware into my humble studio. Currently I just use a Saphire 2i2, Alesis vi49 and a pair of Rokkit 8's with Ableton Live & NI Komplete.
Does anybody know of any reading material and/or videos that explore the realm of adding hardware synths/drum machines etc into a largely digital domain? I've been making music for around nine years, but honestly I don't remember the last time I felt 'creative'. I spend far too much time messing with shit on a screen than playing, creating chord sequences and finding melodies which means that in nine years, I've managed to finish around five tracks. Although I don't like to admit it, I still find a DAW all but a bit overwhelming and I think I'd benefit from being restricted to some analogue kit where I can just jam without having to think outside the box.
TL:DR= Any reading material/vids on setting up older analogue hardware in a digital environment
