My laptop sucks. It's 9/10 years old and it sucks on everything, except durability. I've been using this laptop for producing (HP 530), but I was producing simple things, and not using to many plugins, I was just using 1 plugin for melody, 1 for chords, 1 for bass, and then samples for the beat... That's how I was producing my tunes. Now I got better and understood that that was one of the reasons my songs sounded poor and "not filling the box". Now I try to layer sounds by using more plugins, but there is a problem, once I load like 8 plugins in the whole project, everything starts to lag... in FL Studio you even hear some crackeling which makes producing impossible. I even tried to change the settings to make it lag less, but didn't work. Now, I am saving money, I don't earn to much, so I can't get a laptop very soon... As this will take time, what can I do to keep practicing production or to help me get better at it? What good and cheap laptops can I buy? Should I buy a used and cheap one? If you were me what would you do? (I am a teen) Thanks for all the replies, if there are any xD
