Has anyone done this? Taken a year off from your 'real' job and tried to 'make it'? How did it turn out for you?
I have enough saved up to survive two years without needing to work. With my current job, I only get about two hours per day that I can contribute to music. I would be committed to putting in 8-10 hours per day for the duration of the next 1 - 1.5 years. I also have the opportunity to work with an established producer (is signed to the label I want to be signed to, does world tours, etc.) in the genre I make 2-3 times per month in mentor-like sessions. I would consider myself an intermediate level producer.
If I do decide to take this leap, what are the steps I need to take to ensure I make the most of it?
