I have the following notes. http://imgur.com/BOscYho Im not sure what the technical term in music theory is for standalone notes (Top Melody, Melody Chord, etc.), please clarify that for me if you would. But once I have the notes put down im not sure how to add chords to add more depth to the song. Im guessing you utilize the scale in the note in which the song was written, to make your chord progression or is that your melody, this is a part of music theory that im not to clear on. I know that a lot of hit songs on the radio are really basic melodies and chord progressions, however I just can't seem to get it down. I'm in the process of reading through the whole theory one PDF/website. It seems a very helpful but has its gaps which cannot be avoided due to the nature of making music. Can anybody suggest a good website to go to for melody inspiration and creativity? I am really running out of ideas this point and just free styling it.
