I've been wondering for a while how to achieve a certain kick sound that I've heard in a couple different songs. The best example of this that I can find is in Ardalan's remix of "Us" by Kaskade and CID (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yK3E9qJ7Cec)
When the kick really comes in at :32 it sounds almost like a heartbeat, rather than having the same kick sound on every beat like most house music does.
Another good example is the drop at 1:17 of Cazztek - Came To Get Funky (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPNdtiFiT8E).
Are they using 808s? Extra kicks per measure instead of 4/4? Kick layered with sub bass? Any help would be much appreciated as this has been puzzling me for some time now.
