When I use the MIDI controller: Korg padKONTROL, I get a significant delay and cannot drum to the metronome, thus live drumming is impossible. Even just 4 on the floor is not doable.
I have the padKONTROL connected via MIDI cable to my Focusrite 6i6, which is connected to my desktop via USB. I am using standard speakers (not monitors) connected to the soundcard via 1/8" female to 1/4" male splitter. (I don't even think it is necessary, but thought it may reduce audio latency)
The only way it can come somewhat close to being on time is if I increase the latency in Ableton to compensate for the off-timing. But, getting it to match is difficult. And, wouldn't it throw everything else off?
Desktop spec: E3-1231 3.4 Ghz Xeon, 16GB of RAM, 1GB 256-bit GPU (I think, or 128).
Any thoughts on how I can get live drumming to be doable? Am I setting it up improperly?
Thanks
