Hi All, I am currently researching equipment for my first set up and came across this article regarding budget setups arguing that for beginners a set of speakers isn't really essential and you could get by on headphones

As I'm not in a situation to buy all the equipment straight away I'm considering after reading the above article getting just some phones a midi board and a DAW and then in 6 months time or so if I'm sticking with it and actually putting the work in then upgrading to a set of monitors and an audio interface.
Based on this guys article would you agree or would it be pointless and I should buy everything all at once or not bother at all?
For now I don't plan on using any actual instruments or vocals, ideally if it cant be created as a virtual instrument then it wont be included so I cant really think of any other reason for the audio interface other than for speakers to begin with.
But, I'm new to all this you guys are pros so id like to know if im wasting my time or not with this idea. Thanks!
