okay so I looked around online and couldn't find anything about this, when trying to use layer to control a synthesizer and fruity envelope generator at the same time some weird stuff happens.
In this clip I have the same line played 3 times, once with no envelope, once where layer is sending the same notes to both my synth and the envelope (which is controlling a lpf) and once where the notes on the synth and envelope controller are triggered separately to create the sound I want, as you can see visually here.
the envelope retriggers when the second note is hit, and closes completely when it's released even though I have a second note sustaining under it.
In this clip which is set up the same way, it again retriggers for every note of the chord unless I send different midi data to them.
While I can do the second option in the studio even though I'd prefer not to, I prefer to play my lines, it's not a viable solution for playing live.
I'm wondering if there are retrigger or legato options that I'm overlooking? Or maybe some other ways to work around this that would allow for live play.
