Hey guys. One of the skills that really need to stand out for me when I listen to new music and new producers are whether or not they are able to make their drum tracks blow me away. I listen to a wide array of electronic music like melodic house (Roald Velden, EDU, Alex H), prog trance (Mat Zo, Above and Beyond, Arty), dubstep (Kill The Noise, Savant, Virtual Riot), synthpop (Porter Robinson, Madeon) and other great stuff like deadmau5, Pendulum and Starcadian. When I think about it, all these guys are seriously good with their drum programming, and I know a lot of them (like Pendulum) actually have own drummers in their own studio making their own samples, so they are well stocked on resources like that. But I was listening to BLVCK MVGIC by Kill the Noise and Nanox by Singularity here the other day and the drum programming seroiusly blows my face off. I don't even know HOW to start practicing to get as good, and I feel that seriously no one wants to share resources, good sample packs and info on how to program good drums except for a few videos of how to cut low end and boost the highs of a cymbal. I saw a masterclass with Singularity once, but all he said was that you should put like 70 hours in your drums. Now I'm all for that, but I have NO IDEA about what those 70 hours should consist of. None at all. Are there someone out there who wants to share ANY info on how to step the fuck up, because I wanna be the fucker who blows you away with that AMAZING drum track that makes your hairs stand up. Thanks.
