I was watching a Q&A by Getter from the time when he announced his possible "retirement" from EDM.
In his own words he stated: "I'm quitting cos' I've done my part, I've done what I wanted to do and it's not what I thought it would...I want to get into something else because I'm tired of it. I also just want people to actually appreciate and listen to my music rather than only listening to it to rage and get super fcked up to. That's not what my music is for..."
What are your thoughts? Do you think the art form in general can sometimes be devalued by the way it's consumed? For example, in clubs and festivals where people are blatantly on drugs.
Do you ever think that all of your production and artistry goes unnoticed or unappreciated in the very atmosphere that your music is designed for?
What does Getter mean by "it's not what I thought it would"?
