This may sound obvious, since this is music we're talking about after all but with electronic music production, we rely so much on our eyes for tweaking parameters, analyzing wave forms, moving digital faders + knobs, and more.
It's great that we can do all of these things but don't forget to use your ears. Personally, I'll get a midi controller out just so I at least have something physical in front of me to be able to tweak something and have a physical feel for it without having to look at a screen and ask, "Does this sound right?"
I felt inspired to write this after sitting at my computer and realizing the volume was up too loud, so instead I turned it down specifically to the number 50, instead of letting my ears judge where the volume should be.
Don't forget to use your ears!
