Hey guys, I'm looking for a good affordable option for triggering drum samples (where I can use drum sticks, not tiny samplers that I would require using my fingers). I'd like something that I could use sitting or standing. I don't want a full kit. I feel like I want something between a Roland SPD-SX (but way more affordable), but something that resembles drums, almost like the Rock Band 2 and newer drum kits that allow cymbals. I want something relatively compact, similar to the Rock Band set, but I also want something that is of decent size and I could play standing. I'm not trying to spend hundreds of dollars (or $800 if you go with the SPD-SX...), but I want something that is functional and resembles more of a real set, without the bulkiness of most sets.
To clarify, I don't really care to have something that has it's own "brain", because I'll be using samples in my DAW. If any of you could help it'd be greatly appreciated.
TLDR: I really just want a nice, affordable MIDI drum controller. Doesn't need a brain, just something I can sit OR stand and play, and is responsive.
