Hello!
For my final year university project, i am creating what I'm calling a "ground up pack" aimed at new producers, the idea of the pack being you choose a genre, you get a project file of the track made within that genre (hip-hop, dubstep, electro etc.), access to all of the patches, wavetables, processing chains etc. and on top of that include loops, individual samples and MIDI files made from the original track itself.
My aim is to be able to give this pack to a newer producer with limited knowledge of a DAW and for them to be able to open up a full track, see how things are under the hood, start reverse engineering things and getting a sense of common practices every producer uses and then with the sample pack attached they can go in and recreate the track to figure out arrangement, remix, re-imagine etc. etc. and hopefully the effect will be an abundance of inspiration, which could hopefully still make this a valuable toolbox for a more seasoned producer as well as a rookie.
My question to you guys is looking in hindsight when you were first learning production if this resource was available to you what would you have liked to see included within it?
cheers for taking the time to read this my dudes :)
