I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge involving percussion however i have been battling this issue for the better part of a year now. For the past 1.5 years I've been producing music within the future house genre and i seem to have a problem developing a drum pattern that feels "high intensity" enough for my liking. I was wondering if someone more knowledgeable than I could explain to me what exactly I'm missing with my patterns. I have a couple theories but it would be greatly appreciated to hear some feedback, I believe its something as simple as a shaker with a delay effect every 16th note or perhaps manipulation of sustain/release on a couple samples. I've watched countless "future house tutorials" but it often seems as if they are missing the key element as well. I'd like my drum patterns to sound something along the vein of this song "https://youtu.be/P_O0wABfpLY". My soundcloud link is "https://soundcloud.com/frederic-lewiston" for reference. Can somebody please help me out?
