I'm still trying to find the difference in purpose (and thus, a purpose) of the S/PDIF I/O of my DAC - A NI Komplete Audio 6.
What I'd like to use the I/O 5/6 for is a "loop around", where I route Out 5/6 back to In 5/6, which I'm currently doing with I/O 3/4. This seems dumb, but I use it this way to modify effects on a Mic channel before routing it to a microphone in for OBS or Discord.
I know S/PDIF is weird, and I know NI's S/PDIF internal clock doesn't work properly (I think), but I can't get I/O 5/6 to work the way I can get I/O 3/4 to currently do.
(I/O 3/4 is 1/4" TS to 1/4" TS, whereas I/O 5/6 is RCA S/PDIF, if it matters)
So what am I missing or lack knowing about S/PDIF?
