Before you read this I understand there are going to be mixed reviews and I appreciate that, I’m probably doing something wrong. Anyway, Omnisphere looks great and all the reviews are good but I must be missing something, I can’t seem to find any good presets. I’ve started producing hip-hop for a mate as he wants free beats and as I love rap music I thought why not, but my bass heavy arsenal of sounds/presets isn’t necessarily what he’s looking for. He didn’t give me the exact style of beats he wanted but from what I can guess, it ranges from Lex Lugar to DJ Mustard (different, I know). Anyway, for some history, Lex Lugar basically created the trap sound (I think) with the boomy 808s and the heavy brass sounds which goes down well ‘in da club’. DJ Mustard created another style of club-friendly hip-hop by using deep house style melodies at 90-110bpm with a west coast drum beat and usually throws a nice 808 loop in there as a sub. As he’s in demand by the top rappers, it usually pays off. The same for Lex Lugar 2010-2014????? So I downloaded the Lex Lugar drum kit. Anyway, from my research both these artists use Omnisphere as well as a lot of other Hip-Hip producers so I thought why not, it’s on sale… But, I have literally looked through every single preset and I can’t find any sounds that these producers would’ve used or even sounds like it. For example, the DJ Mustard signature moog bass would have a similar preset but I can’t find it anywhere, even Nexus has a preset (I think that was his original sound tbh). The string/voices sounds in Lex Lugars track are nowhere to be found, infact, if the Omnisphere string presets was a food, I wouldn’t even feed it to my dog. If you go into the bells library, I don’t think there is a simple bell sound everything sounds like church bells. PLEASE TELL ME I’M MISSING SOMETHING BECAUSE I CAN’T FIND THE SOUNDS I WANT AND I KNOW THAT THIS SYNTH HAS THEM PS DON’T LINK ME TO MUSTARD/LEXLUGAR TUTORIALS, I WANT TO KNOW WHERE THE GOOD SOUNDS ARE IN OMNISPHERE OR IF IM DOING SOMETHING WRONG
