I was recently watching a video on mixing kicks with basses, and the song the youtuber was using as an example had an effect in it that I've been trying to recreate for a while now.

Here is the link to the video, the effect happens around 2:25, and it's where all of the sound cuts before the bridge of the song, making that effect where it sounds like everything almost slows down, allowing the big leads to come in with a huge force. I thought it was just a tape stop, but I haven't been able to recreate it, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
