Hi!
Today I got my new pair of KRK rokit 5 monitors. I've connected them with TRS cables to my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2(First generation). While the audio quality is great, I got a pretty big issue with noise.
There's always a very tiny amount of noise, very low volume and hard to notice. But everytime I move the mouse a high pitched noise appears. Also when I booted up Battlefield 1 the noise became more intense and got a higher volume. So it seems like the noise is affected by the computers load.
I've tried moving the 2i2's USB cable from the back of the computer to one of the slots on the front. The speakers and and computer is connected to the same powerstrip, not my two monitors though because lack of slots.
My computers specs are:
i7-4770k CPU MSI 980TI Gaming 6b GPU 16 gb DDR3 ram Corsair RM850 PSU Asus Maximus VIII Hero Motherboard
I've been troubleshooting for several hours now and I've been unable to find a solution, so I'm hoping perhaps someone here knows whats up. I suspect there's a ground loop thing going on, but I do have the monitors and speakers connected to the same powerstrip atm and I've tried separating monitors and the computer aswell, didn't change anything. Perhaps I've understood this ground loop thing completely wrong and someone can tell me how it's done.
Very thankful for any kind of help I can get, I'll provide any info I've forgotten if needed! And I hope this kind of post is allowed on this subreddit. If not, purge it!
