I come from a long background of computer programming, initially focused around games, and have always been a fan of the tracker music tools, originally things like ProTracker on the Amiga and FastTracker on DOS. There still seems to be some level of interest in this fun and powerful way to create music, products such as Renoise and SunVox seem to have a small but significant following.
I'm tinkering with a web based application built around this approach, ultimately with a view to making it collaborative through the nature of being web connected.
My question to you professional and hobbyist digital music producers is, would you be interested in something like this, or would I be better to follow the more popular horizontal DAW style that is common and accepted now, used by the likes of Ableton, FL, etc.?
