I'm a mess right now! I can't seem seem to get the bass right on my mastered tracks. It's always to heavy, and it seems unmanageable. I have voxengo span and other spectrum analyzers, but these don't give me a clue has to where my sub-bass frequencies should sit relative to the rest of the track.
I discovered this imbalance in my tracks the other day in my car, when I played the track and the bass distorted, and gave me clipping sound. I did not get this sound on monitors, or headphones. I then played a professional track, and received no distortion from too much bass.
If anyone of you are willing to share you're process of balanceing your sub-bass to the rest of the mix, i'd be eternally grateful.
I'll take any solutions.
