Im looking to buy Alesis VI49 model as my first midikeyboard but bit uncertain about details on how well it integrates with Ableton when just plugged in or starting new projects. I read they have released some editor for it and that it should atleast automatically get the basics right away (keys, drumpads, pitch and modulation wheels) mapped. But that still leaves 12 knobs and 36 buttons that im unsure about. Id like to mostly use those buttons in similar fashion as Akai APC25 for launching clips, but id much prefer if i wouldn't have to manually map each one individually with every project. But that it would instead either recognise em automatically or the editor would allow me to do it just once and then use that preset when wanting to use it as pseudo-launchpad.
So basicly im asking advice on how well this otherwise very promising looking midi-keyboard works with Ableton mapping from those who have actual experience from using it. It has everything else i need (i think since im newbie) which is 49 keys for learning basic chord playing and full 16 drumpad for learning finger drumming and giving human touch to my drums combined in one affordable package. So being able to smoothly also include launchpad capability without too much tinkering each time would really seal the deal.
Sorry in advance if this question is too specific about particular keyboard brand and model and specific function of it to fit here in Edmproduction but don't know really where else to ask.
