Hi, i've been using lots of DAWs, mostly amateurly. You know, plug in a few guitar tracks and record, Maybe throw in a compressor, reverb, eq... and it seems i've overlooked some terms in production that are very useful. I am currently using Ableton 9 Live. -What is a bus? -Whats the difference between a channel and a track? -How can I use the same effect with different parameters for two tracks? I used to just drop the effect over and over again in each track. Is it supposed to be that way? -What is parallel compression? -When recording / laying out the midi tracks, do you use effects, EQs, compression as you go, or finish the track first?
I am currently watching Ableton 9 Live essential training fron Lynda and I'm still quite confused.
