I often hear a song and I am loving it but theres one part or detail that I really don't like. Some examples: in Cold Water by Major Lazer I think the synth in the drop needs some more reverb, in Go With It by Tokimonsta (BENTZ X G-REX Remix), the second clap in the drop is really weird, and in Ocean (Neptunica ft. Maiden Rose Remix) by Mike Perry, I think the lead in the drop needs to be side chained more heavily. This got me thinking, what if artists get so used to the mixes they make that they get used to small mistakes and leave them in the mix? Or what if somebody has a great small idea for a readjustment of the track that would make it sound a lot better. For that reason, I was thinking that a cool idea for a contest is to have an artist submit a finalized song, and have the contest participants simply retouch, remaster, and fix minor details within the song; the winner of the contest then gets publicity and credit for their work. It's not a remix contest in that participants only makes small changes in the track and fix imperfections, not create a new line or change the feel of the track. What do you guys think? Is this a good idea? Let me know any thoughts or opinions, and if you really like this idea, feel free to start a contest like this; please link me :D
