I was working on a couple bootleg remixes for fun over the weekend and was having a really tough time keeping the "fullness" of the vocals, while also getting rid of the instrument frequencies. I started off with phase canceling as best as I could and then tried to compensate by automating high pass and low pass filters throughout the song and then attempting to boost the frequency of the vocal.
Example
Is there anything else I'm missing that could help out, or is that just the nature of trying to remix something without an actual vocal stem?
Thanks!
