How do famous producers, for example Mr. Belt and Wezol, bypass copyright laws and use vocals which aren't theirs? Their song "Finally" uses vocals from a 90s track after all, do you think they asked for permission, or was there no need for them to ask?
Or is it the case that they have such popular standing with the backing of Spinnin' Records behind them, that they don't have to worry about anything happening to them?
You see, I'm about to sign a contract with a label, and in it it says that the artist has to pay for the label's legal expenses should there be ANY lawsuit claiming ownership over a sample I have used. Now, while I am VERY cautious with the samples I use, I sure wonder if I can use, say, ATFC's vocals as many producers have used them and not get in trouble. Below are examples.
