Sony was the first one to sign the deal w/ Dubset and it looks like UMG is next in line. I got wind of an email between the heads of UMG and the Digital team regarding Dubset. They are testing UGC remixes w/ Dubset to measure profit potential. But at what cost?
1) Flat out, you WON'T own the content.
2) The major labels will be the ones monetizing your remix.
Sure, you can negotiate a cut of profit, but it will be on their terms.
