I use Ableton, but I also use Magix Samplitude on the side. The only thing is, I'm not a fan of their multiband compressor.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a decent multiband compressor like the one in Ableton (not the OTT setting). I'm not sure what people think of it, but I really like using it to fatten up my basses and most of my sounds.
I've just grown so accustomed to using it and how it works that I feel a little lost without it in my other DAW. I know I can ReWire Ableton, but I find it fiddly and hassle to my workflow and CPU.
Does anyone know of any decent multiband compressors, both FREE and paid that are decent?
I've tried:
- Waves C6 (I find it to be okay, but I've never been blown away by Waves)
- Nova 67P (free)
- ReaXComp (free)
- GMulti (free)
- FabFilter Pro-MB
All these can give me that "OTT" sound, but I don't always want that. I don't know whether I'm just using them wrong, but I just can't make it sound similar to the sound I get with Ableton's MB compressor.
If someone could help...I will love you forever and ever.
