Hey, everyone, my name is Konstantin, I am the person responsible for projects: Constant Z and Raving River Horse. Recently my tracks are getting hundreds of thousands of plays and I want to share some secrets that I've discovered in my 8-years-long journey as the music producer.
I know a lot of you want to know where to start and what to learn first. So here is my approach that helped me in last 2 years to reach huuuge progress. Your progress is all about the system of educations and skills you use.
First and foremost: if you want to achieve great results - dedicate yourself! Nothing is gonna work until you freakin produce a lot. A lot to me is minimum 4 hours daily.
So with that in mind here is the biggest advice: focus on making music. That's right. Not designing your sounds, not mixing/mastering/whatever plugin-orienteered bullshit. MAKE MUSIC. If you wanna be a musician - that's what you do! Make MUSIC!
But you would ask me - hey, dude, how do I get this freaking sound right. And the answer is - Samples. Go and use goddeamn quality samples. That's what people do. There is so great much music made almost entirely of samples: Zedd's Dead's early tracks - samples, Prodigy - samples, literally there are tons of music done this way. That doesn't mean you should go and sample someone's songs - no. Go and use professional sample libraries.
My biggest tune "Tell Me" ,which is now got more that 600 000 Spotify streams and 250 000 Youtube views, is made by 50% out of sample libraries. Saxophone in the drop - chopped sample, vocal - sample, intro flute - sample, pre - drop beatbox - sample. All I did is made my own bass, chords and drum rolls, which I am freakin good at, chopped and composed stuff, put a limiter on master and there you have it - support from Tiesto and Thomas Newson + worldwide airplay.
The best part is - all of the samples I used are 100% royalty free so now I am literally getting around 400$ a month just from one tune. That really helps me to sustain my life and produce better music, which I can ensure you - you'll hear soon. So go ahead and be creative, don't mind this freakin ton-of-stuff-to-learn bullshit and just make music.
