Greetings!
I have been working with logic pro x for a few years. As I am a student, using headphones and working on the go is where I get a lot of work done on my macbook pro. Only until the other day I realized I need to buckle down and buy a proper audio interface to use with my studio monitors (Dont kill me for not having one, the thought just never occurred to me).
I've been saving up some cash for awhile (not enough for a synth and interface, but ill get in to that later) to buy something music related, and have decided that I need to buy an interface. I want to futureproof my new setup which is why I'm here asking a question.
I'm interested in the Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 and have a few questions about that.
-
Should I purchase the gen 1 or 2? The gen 1 is cheaper, but are there issues?
-
In Logic Pro X, How would I connect an external synth via midi, so I can play notes in the daw and use my larger usb keyboard, and then route the audio back in via the same track. The external instrument plugin?
-
Can I connect multiple midi devices? Lets say I setup a moog mother 32 on midi channel 3, and the audio input on channel 4, and then want to setup a korg synth and do the same except with different audio and midi channels so it can play different notes. Can I daisy chain midi devices and have it send multiple channels over one midi cable?
Sorry if my writing didn't make much sense. I can fix it if needed.
Thanks
