The reason they're so cheap is that they were developed to be sold to accompany the Rockband games. As a comparison, the cheapest decent rival would be an Akai LPK25, which goes for £40 on Amazon. I actually found the build quality of the Rockband Keytar to be considerably better than the Akai. The action of the keys is better, too. Nothing to lose here, really
Bear in mind that the output is a fully-fledged 5 pin MIDI DIN (not usb) so you'd need a MIDI-> USB adapter or other MIDI interface in order to connect it to your computer. These go for less than £5 on eBay, though, so you're still saving money over other cheap keyboards.
