Hi music lovers,
I see this community as a friendly place to help people get started on wonderful journey of studying music-making, from early steps of choosing a instrument to advanced discussion of techniques and theory.
Over past year the amount of spam and promotional posts on /r/learnmusic has increased and made this reddit much less enjoyable. Unfortunately lot of people see it as good place to promote their content without interacting with community. Spammers are financially motivated and they vastly outnumber the moderators.
Recently I was left as only active moderator around. This is a problem, as I was not active enough and my reddit time has only decreased over the years. This community deserves more - better moderation with less promotional content, scheduled events to better engage readers, more updated content on sidebar...
Please let me know if you are interested in becoming moderator. I would like to appoint 2 or 3 moderators, depending on interest and candidate's previous involvement with music-related subreddits. The new moderators will have full freedom to lead this community as they agree between themselves.
Also, if you have any feedback or suggestions for /r/learnmusic, please share here.
Cheers
