I've always dreamed of being an amazing pianist. I've been playing ever since I was a baby and I always had time to play as a kid, I was homeschooled and otherwise had no responsibilities.
Now I'm out of the house, away from my parents baby grand piano and I went 2 years without practicing! I didn't have my own piano until now but I figured I'd just pick everything right back up. I literally cried and got so frustrated at the fact that I couldn't even begin to play a single note for a movement of Moonlight Sonata I had played before so easily! I didn't even need sheet music to play before, I played by feel. I think that may have something to do with why I forgot so much...
Now that I'm on my own I'm also starting to realize I have hardly any actual time to sit down and enjoy re-learning my old songs and learning new ones. It feels like it will take decades to even get close to where I was 2 years ago!
My question for you Reddittors out there is: Do you have any tips or tricks on learning a bit quicker?
