Hey, so I remember way back when I started DJ'ing and realized all of these ripped songs are going to sound like shit because a magical thing called 320kbps exists, and the quality is between night and day on a system..
I'm now wondering if the same idea applies to sampling from a 320kbps mp3 vs. a .WAV? If I sample, say a piece of a drum kit, from a mastered 320kbps, is that cool? Or is it pretty standard to only use .WAV samples only for quality purposes.. I ask because after I consolidated it out of the mastered track, the sample waveform changed slightly. See the imgur link below for a Before/After comparison with further description.
