I am looking at buying either 4 inch think acoustic panels from ATS or acoustic foam bass traps to stick in the top corners of my bedroom studio. This is going to be the first investment of mine into treating my bedroom so I would like to make the smart purchases and avoid mistakes such as buying foam and hoping that it is going to tighten up my low end.
Given my circumstances, I am aware I will never achieve perfect results, but I am just hoping to get to the best possible point of treatment. My room is a rectangular shape with dimensions:
L - 13' 8''
W - 10' 3''
H - 8' 3''
My speakers are 5 inch Mackie speakers so they don't produce an amazing low end or anything like that and I also do not have a sub.
Would it be better for me to get 4 inch thick acoustic panels and stick them both directly behind my speakers with about 2 inches of distance between back of speaker in order to reduce SBIR or would it better to buy acoustic foam bass traps and stick them in the top corners of my room?
Thank you in advance
