I've been making EDM for almost 3 years (and music in general for 10 years) now but I have difficulties to get feedback for my songs.
I've tried to share on some forums of composers, but most people just share their musics and few leave feedback.
I've shared my songs on Facebook and Soundcloud but I just get occasional feedback from family friends. Most of a time, it's just a "like", and when I ask "what do you like/do not like?" I do not get much.
I have great difficulties to go into self-promotion. Sometimes people ask my Soundcloud but I'm hesitant over giving it to them. I suppose it is part of the problem. I do not feel worth it.
But still I would like to know how you do it. Where do you share your tracks to get "professional" (not amateur) and/or casual feedback?
Do you have to do gigs to get some traction? Do you spend a lot of time in community website as this one?
I know it is a vast topic and I have already spent some time on blog articles on the subjects but I find most of the ressources online lack substance or are written by people who are not always good examples themselves.
