I've been watching a few producer livestreams lately. There's one thing I've noticed that they all seem to mention with regards to Serum. That is, to avoid the use or the overuse of the comb, flange, reverb and allpasses filters and hyper dimension. I understand that it causes phasing issues, but you really can get some damn good sounds from applying these effects. I've really been listening to a lot of tracks lately that are, I assume, using serum and sounds like they're using comb and reverb filters galore. How do I know if these effects are affecting my mix? How can I use these effects effectively without phasing issues?
