Ok so my current pitfall atm is trying to get my mix sounding really clear not just on my speakers (HS7's) but also through my ipod headphones etc. Can anyone recommend some EQuing techniques/rules etc to really make it pop through headphones? what frequencies should i be cutting and boosting. This link leads me onto my second question. When mastering your own tracks, how is it possible with a loud bass to retain such a loud master and still keep it clear and not over driven! No matter what i try it sounds "gainy" and overdriven at those high volumes.
