Ive recently picked up Nicky Romero's Kickstart plug in and I'm really enjoying it. Something I've been working on is recreating any sort of effect like those within Serum and so far it's been going well. I've been able to replicate your average sidechain compression with little effort (though I'm still inexperienced on when to have my lfo modulate my filter's cutoff and when to have it hit the overall amp for the synth. Kickstart seems to mostly be an overall volume thing.)
However something I've been unable to replicate very will is the reverse compression (I think I'v seen it described as Reverse pumping, where you send your kick through an expander) to have it pluck 8th notes while paying over full chords. I'm not sure if there's something going on behind the scenes in Kickstart that I can't figure out, but I havent been able to quite match the same exact sound (Its the 6th setting on both the top and bottom row). Obviously I could just use the kickstart, but I'm trying to become more proficient in Serum and synth creation in general, and would really appreciate any help.
