About to enter a remix competition and it'll be the first time I've ever uploaded anything. Since I downloaded the stems and started arranging my remix I've been really inspired but since I'm still learning mixing I'm not that satisfied with the overall mix. If I was going to enter I'd probably send it for mastering too, but I'm just worried I won't get the most out of the track if my mixing isn't up to scratch. My friends also think I should start regularly putting up tracks on SoundCloud even if I don't like the mix completely since I can always take them down later.
So do you guys reckon it's better to just get stuff out there now even if it's not sounding 100%? What did you in your early days as a producer?
