Hey all to keep it short and simple, I was looking at the project file for Jauz - Goodies from splice and I had a few questions regarding the mix. I was looking at the master chain and decided to take off all of the audio effects and take a look at the peak levels. The chorus (and most of the song) was peaking at an upwards of 7.00 DB or more the entire mix.
Why is this and how does it still sound good? To my understanding, leaving roughly 2-3 DB of headroom is a pretty good starting point before mastering.
How does this work??
