DISCLAIMER: I posted a Soundcloud Link here: https://soundcloud.com/jedediah-real/base-hau5
but it is not for self promotion, just an A/B for my Mono Kick vs. my Stereo Kick. Mods, if you feel the need to delete this post, go right ahead. Sorry in advance.
I've added a rack to my Kick track and processed a dry signal (with the kick in mono), and a separate chain in the same rack that high passes the kick and puts the higher frequencies to the sides to create width.
If you listen to the reference track, it starts out as a Mono Kick, then @ 0:08, it is my stereo Kick. Would appreciate any feedback And I know there will be the classic answer: "Do what sounds good" and I'm honestly not looking for that answer. I KNOW it sounds good and ideally I would like to use it, but I'm wondering if the idea is practical in terms of mixing and balancing levels without taking too much space in the frequency spectrum.
