I know Ableton mostly thru and thru. But I've never used it for an analog synth before. I have a Sub Phatty. I have the most recent version of Ableton, a MOTU 4PRE which works fine for the most part (guitars, mics, monitors, etc), and I have a 1/4" TRS giving great audio from the new synth. The 4PRE doesn't have MIDI, but the Sub Phatty does have USB, so I can control the the synth from the Standalone software.
SO here's my question: How (can I?) make the synth receive MIDI from Ableton? I just want to send some MIDI looped so I can focus on the patch. I gotta be missing something.
I feel like I'm missing something in the preferences or something. The MOTU is a stubborn bitch too. But I'm just lost right now. Anyone able to help? I'd appreciate it very much.
